The Morning Habits You Need In 2020!

Ahh mornings. When we hear mornings your mind most likely goes to a place of

"Ugh another day" Or "Just need a few more hours."

But in the good words of Sarah Jakes Roberts, a bomb girl boss pastor,


Mornings for me are what set the tone for my whole day, It's how I accomplish everything I need to accomplish ( including this blog ). I like to make sure my mornings are three things:

peaceful, pleasant and most of all productive.

I have developed my morning habits by studying people that are successful! Each CEO that I have studied all have similar habits that allow them to be productive in the best way possible.

Here are the morning habits that I do that you should implement as well!



1. 5 second rule

The five second rule is simple once your alarm comes on count 1,2,3,4,5 then GET UP!

Yes. Just get up.

It's actually scientifically proven that pressing snooze to get that extra 5 minutes then 10 minutes then ANOTHER 5 minutes, actually makes you more tired then just getting up when your alarm goes off.

Snooze we all love it but let it go.

2. Make your bed

A simple but very important task. Making your bed is proven to make you feel in your mind that you already accomplished something for the day.

"If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed... If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another" William H. McCraven

3. No Phone for the first hour

It's a habit that even I have a hard time breaking but once you do your mindset in the morning will change drastically.

By grabbing your phone and automatically starting to scroll you've already set your mind to focus on others before yourself... first thing in the morning.

The first thing that you should take care of in the morning is YOU.

I like to take that first hour and just let it be me plus my thoughts before worrying about someone else.

Replace the scrolling with a book or podcast and watch your mind change for the better.

4. Plan + Prep The Night Before

I always prepare the night before.

This enables that I go to bed feeling organized and well that I have everything prepared for the morning. Preparing ahead of time allows less feeling frazzled and more feeling focused.

I go to bed with a to-do list already made so I know exactly what I'm doing the next day, which limits the amount of decisions that need to be made right in the morning.

In conclusion the point is simple.

The manner you start your day sets the tone on how the rest of it will go.
